Rocky Mountain Farmers Union

Consists of 12 photos:

(1) Rudy Rutar, November 1976, from Torrington, Goshen County, Wyoming. A RMFU board member from the 1970s to 1980s. He also served on the RMFU Board of Directors.

(2) Raymond F. Novak, c. 1970, from North Dakota. National Farmers Union (NFU) insurances manager and president of the insurance companies in the 1970s and 1980s. Photographed by De Croce Studio, Denver, Colorado.

(3) Dave Naibauer, c. 1970. Weld County RMFU president in the 1950s and early 1960s. Also worked as a membership and field organizer for RMFU.

(4) Joe Starbuck, 1970, from Salida, Colorado. Chaffee County Farmers Union insurance agent and district manager. He was later a RMFU board member.

(5) Charles Klaseen, 1970, from Crawford, Colorado.

(6) Carl and Janell Jensen in Carl's studio at Wheatland, Wyoming. Carl was Platte County RMFU president and later state executive director of the Farm Service Agency (USDA) during the Clinton years. Besides farming, Carl is a sculptor and painter. Photographed by Dave Carter.

(7) Clara Price. Secretary of RMFU for many years.

(8) George Bickel, from Longmont, Colorado. RMFU director of communications and editor of the Rocky Mountain Union Farmer.

(9) Loren Swenson. A manager of the RMFU insurances, the Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Company, and Farmers Union Service Association from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s.

(10) Vern Bryant. Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and treasurer of all three RMFU companies from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s.

(11) Evan Goulding, Colorado Commissioner of Agriculture, testifying before the Colorado Legislature in 1978.

(12) Maureen or Joanie Brophy at camp education center, Bailey, Colorado.
