Rocky Mountain Farmers Union

Consists of 10 photos (photo 1-6 taken at the dedication of the National Farmers Union building, 1575 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado):

(1) Goshen County RMFU members. County president Carl Otto on far left; board member John Helzer second from right.

(2) Weld County RMFU members Elton Miller (left), Marie Stencel (center), and unidentified man.

(3) Sheridan County, Wyoming RMFU members Marie and Coyne Tibbets. Coyne was the county president and Marie was the county education director.

(4) La Plata County RMFU members Art and Ann Isgar on the left; unidentified man on the right.

(5) Yuma County RMFU members. Lettie Zion (in front, with hat); to the right of Lettie is Edna Buchanan, then Jim Brophy and Frank Buchanan on far right. The other woman (with white bow) could be Dorothy Brophy.

(6) Pueblo County RMFU members. On left: Johnny and Rosa Gamble. Johnny was an insurance agent. Rosa was the county education director. Unidentified man on the right.

(7) Left to right: Rep. Byron L. Johnson, Lail W. Schmidt, and Dale Colglazier, January 1959. Byron Johnson represented Colorado's 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, 1959-1961. Lail Schmidt served as RMFU president from 1962-1966. Dale Colglazier served as RMFU vice-president.

(9) Board members of the Farmers Union Marketing Association in the Denver center, January 1956. Joe Green, seated in center, president of FUMA; Guy Poe is standing behind Joe Green.

(10) Left: A.C. Carroll (Grand Junction). Right: Charles F. Brannan. A. C. Carroll was a member of the RMFU board from Mesa County. Mr. Brannan served as legal counsel for RMFU and US Secretary of Agriculture under President Harry Truman.
