Rocky Mountain Farmers Union
Consists of 14 photos:
(1) Max Vawter; secretary of RMFU from approximately 1952 to 1972.
(2) Don Fehringer from Peetz, Colorado; a long-time Farmers Union activist from Logan County. Photographed by Thompson's Photo Center, Sidney, Nebraska.
(3) Al Gamble, c. 1965; an insurance agent and possibly a district manager.
(4) Alice Graham from Delta County; RMFU education director and helped with many camps on Grand Mesa for the Western Slope Farmers Union youth.
(5) Amer Lehmanfrom Idalia, Yuma County, 1968; a RMFU member and became the Colorado Farmers Home Administration (FHA) State Director during the Kennedy and Johnson administration.
(6) Ron Heck from Mesa County, October 1967; a dairy farmer and a RMFU board member.
(7) Maurice Parker from Morgan County; RMFU president and served as RMFU vice-president in the late 1960s and as a state senator in the 1970s.
(8) Carl J. Otto from Yoder, Goshen County, Wyoming; served as county RMFU president and Wyoming state director of Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) during the Kennedy and Johnson administrations; was also a state legislator.
(9) Frank Buchanan from Yuma, Colorado, 1962, ; served as a RMFU board member in the 1960s.
(10) Hiram "Hi" McNeil from Montrose, Colorado; the former Montrose County RMFU president and a Colorado state legislator.
(11) Guy Gilbertson from Mesa County, December 1965; a RMFU board member.
(12) T. John Baer, Jr., Loma, 1968; served as a Colorado state legislator in the 1960s and 1970s.
(13) Floyd F. Higbee from Prowers County; a long-time RMFU member and was appointed director of the Farmers Home Administration (FHA) in Washington, DC during the Kennedy and Johnson administrations.
(14) John Helzer from Torrington, Goshen County, Wyoming; a long-time RMFU activist and a board member in the 1960s and 1970s.
